As we all know, the processing time for many visa types has slowed significantly over the last two years and now we have confirmation! Despite providing complete applications, achieving a time appropriate outcome has been hit and miss. In the Weekend Australian 13 April 2018, Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton confirmed that numbers would be lower, having "tightened the screws" on the visa approval process in 2015. It seems the way to achieve a reduction in migration numbers without officially reducing the intake numbers was to slow the approval process and apply tougher vetting.

Occupation List Changes

Latest changes to the STSOL see the addition of Property Manager, Psychotherapist and Real Estate Representative. Occupations moved from STSOL to MLTSSL are Horse Breeder and Management Consultant. Lastly, the occupations removed from the lists are Building Associate and Hair or Beauty Salon Manager.
